NOTE FOR PARENTS: This is one of the scariest episodes of Doctor Who yet. The whole family agree that it is simply brilliant, and all four Fear Forecasters really enjoyed being so frightened while watching it together with mum and dad. The parents suggest that, if you're concerned, then tape the episode, and watch it with children during the daytime, or, at least, a long time before bedtime.

Sally Sparrow visits an old abandoned house.(0) It's only just started, yet Harry can't believe what he's seeing. "She just went into a 'Danger- Keep Out'! Is she nuts or something? "Yes, she's nuts," concludes Amy. "A very clever place to go," Adam says sarcastically. Samuel has a wicked glint in his eye, and is obviously getting ideas.

Sally notices something underneath the wallpaper.(1) The house is very spooky. Samuel shuffled closer to Adam. "Can I swap and sit next to dad?" he asks. "No," says Adam firmly.

It's a message for Sally, DUCK!(2) Harry and Amy read aloud as the words are uncovered. "What's a Duck No?" asks Amy. Harry shrugs. A rock flies over Sally's head! "Oh, duck NOW!" they say in unison. "What a good opening," says Samuel. "I remember a story like this in a Doctor Who annual," says Adam. "That was good, too."

Sally sees a figure on TV - the Doctor.(3) There's the Doctor, back on the telly. Harry and Amy look perplexed. "Don't blink," the Doctor says. "I'm trying," complains Samuel, "but it makes my eyes hurt!"

Sally meets Laurence, Kathy's brother, a little underdressed!(4) That guy's got no pants on! The whole family are amused.

Sally notices an Angel statue has moved in the garden.(5) "Why do they keep climbing over that gate?" Samuel wants to know. "That must be the Weeping Angel!" deduces Harry. Amy eyes the statue warily.

Kathy's grandson, Malcolm, calls to the house!(6) There's somebody at the door. But burglars don't ring doorbells. "Maybe it's the Doctor," suggests a hopeful Samuel. "This is getting spooky," whispers Harry.

An Angel is inside the house, it's after Kathy.(7) "Has that statue just moved?" asks Harry, worriedly. Amy is wide eyed. "It's getting nearer!" mutters Samuel.

Kathy appears in a field somewhere.(8) Cathy's in a field! In Hull! "Huh?" Amy looks to Dad for an explanation, but he's as surprised as she is. "The scariest thing in the world," laughs Adam, relieved, "it's a cow!"

HULL NEWS: 5th December 1920.(9) But then they realises... "1920?!" shouts Harry, astounded. "But that's years ago!" "Was that when you were born, dad?" asks Samuel. Dad quells him with a look. "Hey, the weeping angel can travel through time!" Samuel adds.

Sally looking at the Angels in the room, one is holding a key!(10) Sally finds a key among the Angels. The kids tense, expecting them to move at any moment...

An Angel watches as Sally leaves.(11) "Dad, I still don't understand why this one's called Blink," says Amy. Before Dad can reply Harry lets out a yell! "Look! They're at the windows!" Adam: "There's more than one! Run for it!" Samuel: "No! It's a trap!"

Sally, looking through Kathy's life in the past.(12) Amy laughs as Cathy's pursued by Ben. The letter fascinates Adam and Samuel. It touchingly describes how Cathy loved a good man and lived a good life. "Yeah," snorts Samuel, "but in Hull!"

The DVD store employee makes Sally wait...(13) Sally visits the DVD shop. And there's the Doctor on TV again. Harry frowns, desperately trying to work out what's going on.

Laurence meets Sally again, this time fully clothed!(14) Dad laughs at Laurence's awkward encounter with Sally. "Didn't recognise him with his pants on!" grins Adam.

Sally notices the Doctor on the TV again.(15) "Are there really such things as DVD Easter Eggs, Dad?" asks an intrigued Harry.

Sally is freaked out. The Doctor answered her question!(16) the Doctor can hear her! Amy can't see a problem, but Harry's very surprised! "Haha!" laughs Adam, "she keeps pausing him!"

The Angels watch Sally in the Police Station.(17) The kids freeze again as they spot two Angels on a building!

Sally blinks, the Angels are gone!(18) Sally Blinks. "They're gone," breathes Harry. "Oh that's scary!" breathes Samuel, and shuffles in his seat. "No!" Harry points, "there they are!" He makes a grab for Amy's sock, but she pushes him off, crossly.

DI Billy Shipton asks Sally on a date.(19) The kids wonder why Dad laughs when Billy states that the Police Box windows are the wrong size. "Hee hee," chants Samuel merrily, "he fancies her." A big laugh from the kids for "Life is short and you are hot," and an even bigger laugh for "Sally Shipton".

Billy notices the Angels have surrounded the TARDIS.(20) The Angels are surrounding the TARDIS! The kids look very worried. Samuel finally manages to swap with Adam and sit next to dad.

Billy blinks, oops!(21) "No, don't do it!" urges Harry. But too late! Billy's blinked!

The Doctor and Martha find Billy in 1969.(22) Harry and Amy visibly relax as the Doctor and Martha show up in 1969.

The Doctor's Timey-Wimey detector helped find Billy.(23) Harry like the look of the Timey-Wimey detector. "Cool!"

Sally visits Billy as an old man, on his death bed.(24) Billy's an old man! The kids are shocked. "He's, like, a hundred years old!" says Samuel incredulously. "No, it was 1969," mum says, "so that would make him about dad's age." Dad looks scandalised.

Sally cries as Billy passes away.(27) "I'll stay with you, Billy," promises Sally Sparrow. "This is getting seriously weird," decides Harry. "Billy's going to die," Adam observes sadly. Samuel has other worries: "The Weeping Angel's coming," he says ominously.

Sally and Laurence prepare to watch the DVDs.(28) Back at 'Scooby-Doo's house'. At night. The kids fall silent once more.

Sally is convinced the Doctor can hear her.(29) Sally talks to the Doctor. The kids concentrate hard on the bizarre conversation. They're delighted that the conversations fit... twice over! They grin at the Doctor's cleverness.

The Doctor explains what the Weeping Angels are. DONT BLINK!(31) "Don't blink!" orders the Doctor. Harry and Amy stare, unblinking at the screen.

Sally and Laurence keep their eyes on the Angel.(32) Faced with the approaching Angels... "Maybe they should just chisel their heads off," ponders Adam. "Or put a mirror in front of them?" suggests Samuel.

The Angel waits...(33) Snarling Angel! The kids all jump out of their seats! Harry covers his face with his hands and peeks out occasionally from behind his fingers. Brave Amy stares on, unblinking, and clutches the sofa. Samuel clutches dad. Displaced Adam clutches his chair instead.

Laurence struggling to watch the Angel.(34) "Stay here!" shouts Sally, leaving Laurence on his own. It's too much for Harry, who runs out of the room! Adam chews his shirt collar.

Sally and Laurence rush to get in the TARDIS.(35) "Sally, please!" cries Laurence. Amy decides to join her brother. As Sally and Laurence desperately try to gain entry to the TARDIS, Harry and Amy watch the episode from behind the crack in the door. Adam and Samuel are frozen in their seats, like statues, finally managing to croak: "Get in the box!"

Sally and Laurence inside the TARDIS.(36) Inside the TARDIS. Harry breathes a sigh of relief and cautiously makes his way back into the living room. Samuel remembers what most people do on their first TARDIS visit: "I bet they won't be going back outside to look around it!"

The TARDIS is leaving for 1969 without them.(37) The TARDIS is shaking. "This is funny!" grins Adam. Then his smile fades... the TARDIS is leaving without them! Harry bolts back behind the door, rejoining his sister who was wise enough to stay put!

The Angels have been tricked.(38) "Hey, they're just statues!" sighs Samuel. "They're looking at each other!" realises Harry. And he's right. The danger has passed.

Sally longs for more answers to what happened.(39) Sally's back at the shop and the kids are back on the sofa. Sally explains to Laurence that it's just a shop, and the kids go "Awwww!"

Sally spots the Doctor and Martha outside.(40) Harry's delighted at the return of two old friends. "Hey, it's Martha and the Doctor!" Samuel gives a little cheer.

Sally gives the Doctor everything he'll need.(41) Sally gives her note to the Doctor. "This is brilliant," mutters Harry appreciatively, as the final pieces of the jigsaw fall into place. Samuel heaves a huge sigh of relief.

Are all the Angels defeated?(42) "Are the Angels all gone now?" asks Amy. "I bet there's a leader somewhere," guesses Harry. And then we hear the Doctor's warning once more and, with horror, the kids realise how many more Angels could be out there, watching, waiting. So the kids try not to Blink for the rest of the evening!
