An average street in London, 2012 Olympics.(1) A quiet street, 2012. Samuel: "We've slipped forward six years." Harry's enthused from the start. "Great! I love the Olympic Games!"

Chloe Webber draws a child on the street.(3) Samuel's impressed by Chloe's singing: "What a beautiful voice." But then her drawing comes to life. "Woah! That is quite scary!" Amy doesn't seem to notice anything out of the ordinary.

Rose looks at poster of Shayne Ward.(4) The TARDIS takes two attempts to land, which makes Adam laugh. Samuel's spotted a poster on the wall: "Shayne Ward!"

The Doctor orders the bickering parents, 'Fingers on lips!'(7) Vehicles are stalling in the street. "But cars aren't humans," puzzles Samuel. The neighbours are discussing "evil". All the family, finding the Doctor's authority irresistible, place their fingers on their lips.

Chloe can see a cat outside.(8) Samuel thinks he's worked it out: "She's an ordinary girl... but she wants friends. And those children's souls are trapped in the pictures." Adam is impressed with Chloe: "She draws really quickly." That would be handy in Art, he's thinking.

Chloe drawing the cat she just saw.(10) Chloe's drawing a cat. "The cat's going into the picture," guesses Amy.

The Doctor and Rose investigate the box the cat disappeared into.(11) The cat's vanished! Amy is quietly satisfied. She looks at her own pens, then at Harry, but decides not to draw her brother. Yet.

Chloe brakes a pencil, gets angry and draws a scribble.(13) "She's talking to the pictures," breathes Samuel. "Uh-oh! What's going to happen if she just draws scribbles like that?" Adam ponders this: "I don't have a clue," he concludes unhelpfully...

The scribble attacks Rose.(14) ...until he works out what's in the garage. "Hey! It's a squiggle!" Samuel agrees: "It's not every day you get attacked by a scribble!" "Use the sonic screwdriver!" shouts Harry, and is relieved when the Doctor does just that.

The Doctor and Rose visit Chloe's mum, Trish.(15) The Doctor and Rose feign indifference about wanting to talk to Chloe. Her mum calls them back. "Ha ha," chuckles Samuel, "she's falling in their trap."

Rose fakes a toilet request.(16) Rose asks to go to the loo. "Hey!" says Samuel, "they don't go to the toilet on Doctor Who". "Not even in the TARDIS?" ponders Adam. He and Samuel shuffle in their seats uncomfortably as they continue to discuss this dilemma.

Rose must hide in a cupboard.(17) Rose explores upstairs. Harry is convinced something nasty is about to happen. Amy doesn't think so - what's scary about a girl's bedroom?

Rose finds a drawing in Chloe's cupboard, Evil Dad.(18) Rose enters the bedroom. Something's in the wardrobe! "Don't go in there! shouts Samuel, twisting his fingers together in agitation. The face in the cupboard looms. "She's been drawing on the walls," says Amy disapprovingly. "Waaaah!" cries Harry as the creature awakens. "Wow, that was scary!" Samuel adds.

The Doctor eats marmalade with his fingers, naughty!(21) "The Doctor's being naughty!" giggles Amy, as the Time Lord tastes some marmalade with his fingers. And now, our heroes are off up the stairs again - how can a 12-year-old girl be doing this? "Let's find out!" says the Doctor. "You'd better!" Samuel tells him. Adam has remembered what happened to the squiggle in the TARDIS: "They should just rub his head off."

Chloe is possessed by an alien, an Isolus.(24) Chloe is possessed. "Ooh, spooky voice," says Samuel.

Flashback: Chloe meets an Isolus.(26) Adam and Samuel are surprised to see Chloe swallow the ethereal flower creature. "Is that the monster?" queries Amy. If it is, she's not at all scared by it. Adam and Samuel are even more impressed by the way singing to the monster makes it calm.

Chloe sees the Doctor and Rose enter the TARDIS.(27) "Why is it happening at the Olympics?" grumbles Samuel. "It seems a bit random." But there's something to be more concerned about as Chloe peers around a corner. "She's following them!"

The Doctor and Rose build a device together.(28) Back in the bedroom, and Chloe reveals... "Secret pencils!" gasps Adam. Everyone's so engrossed in this they barely have time to decide what the Doctor means by "I was a Dad once" ("Eh?" asks Samuel).

The TARDIS and Doctor have disappeared too.(30) "Oh no! No, no no!" says Harry, then clamps a hand over his mouth. "Waaaah! Too late!" he adds, as the TARDIS and the Doctor vanish. Adam and Samuel gawp at the screen in amazement. Amy can't see what all the fuss is about. "It's only a drawing," she says wearily.

Chloe draws everyone at the Olympic stadium.(33) Samuel: "Chloe's got loads of secret pencils!" Adam's worked out the bigger danger: "She's drawing lots of people." Harry panics! "Oh my gosh. No, not the Olympics!". Amy gets her pens and does a squiggle. She looks round, slightly disappointed that a squiggle monster hasn't appeared.

Chloe drawing Earth.(34) Chloe's creating a mural. Samuel's not impressed: "You should never draw on the wall!" Dad pats his head: "That's my boy." "She's going to draw the whole world!" whispers Harry, aghast. Amy quickly draws her brother, then pouts when he fails to vanish.

All the drawings are back to life, including Evil Dad!(39) The Fitted Wardrobe Monster starts down the stairs. "I'm coming to hurt you..." roars the FWM. The boys stare intently at the screen, enthralled and appalled in equal measure. "It's only a red light," a nonchalant Amy reassures them.

The Doctor carries the Olympic torch, helping the Isolus leave.(40) The Doctor picks up the Olympic Torch. Adam cheers: "He did it for him!"

The Doctor and Rose look up at the fireworks, the Doctor can feel a great storm coming... (42) Can Rose and the Doctor stay together? "I'm worried she might die in battle, remember?" worried Samuel. "That was spooky." decides Harry. "But I think next time is going to be even spookier, and with loads of monsters!" Amy agrees, and starts to draw them.
