Happy Anniversary!

23rd Nov 2011

Doctor Who is 48 years old today! On 23 November, 1963, BBC ONE broadcast a spooky and exciting episode entitled An Unearthly Child...

It begins with two inquisitive school teachers following a student to her home, only to find she apparently lives in a junk yard which contains what looks like a police call box. Believing their student is inside the incongruous blue box, they ignore the protests of a mysterious old man known as the Doctor, and force their way in... The teachers are stunned to discover it's a craft that's bigger on the inside! A struggle ensues and the ship somehow 'takes off', flinging its occupants back in time...

And so began a series of adventures that continues to enchant and enthral audiences around the world.
