So I'd assume, he is better off with the sandwich business anyway. No doubt that there will be lots of "wanna be sandwich queen" soon. Hopefully, he will resist until he truly is in love. He is nice. Not a contender to the Philipp's and Ben's in this world. I suppose, if it weren't for the show, SAS would have kept him. Having said that, he didn't deserve to be fired. But I wonder if the Beeb realised too late that he might have some interesting 'family' connections? Sun 05 Apr 2009 18:39:08 GMT+1 Mirrorman74 http://www.bbc.co.uk/apprentice/candidates/biographies/c_400006.shtml?page=15#comment78 Understandably, Rocky had to be fired. The one task where his skills, leadership, and experience should have won him the task he lost it. Other team members were just as useless too, however this should have been a task he walked.... or should it?I'm always very cynical about young buisness types boasting about huge successes. Behind every great man there is a great woman, or so the saying goes. And I also feel than very young business people (bearing in mind he 'started' the business at 16 years old) tend to have a 'great Mummy or Daddy' behind them. It's no secret that many parents help their offspring start businesses by putting up the money for it in the first place. It's also common practice for people to use their children as Directors in a business that they do not want direct links to - if the business goes bust then they are not soley responsible for it etc etc.My comments are not based on jealousy or envy - I admire anyone that genuinely starts a business and makes a success of it. What really annoys me is when people 'ride the success' of a path that was laid out for them by someone else. I have no idea if this is the case for Rocky.Even owning 15 sandwich shops with a healthy turnover, I would be genuinely surpised that he would allocate himself a salary of over £100,000 a year. Apart from the obvious tax implications, he is also taking a hefty sum out of a business which is still in it's early years. This harks back to the question of why would he want to become an Apprentice and earn less money? I believe that he would be actually earning more money with Sir Alan than what he is taking out of the business, and I'm sure that this would have been exposed had he got as far as the Interview round in week 10.Perhaps by publically announcing that he earns all this money is a sly way of taking a dig at the football friends he has left behind. Maybe not earning as much as they (or he) would be earning in a football career, but maybe dispelling myths that he went from playing football to 'making sandwiches'.He's certainly a very fortunate guy. Whether that be because of family financial support or because he is involved with a successful small business.I do wonder though, why on earth is a 21 year old lad earning over £100,000 still living at home with Mum & Dad? Also it's interesting to note that the one true entrepreneur doesn't appear to have any qualifications, which is very interesting as it fits in with the profile of an entrepreneur.
