Hi everyone,
Since the recent upgrade, we've been experiencing problems with the DNA search. In order to rectify this, we're currently re-indexing the search. This re-index of all DNA content will take 2-3 days to complete.
During this time the search engine will work erratically. Only content that has been through the index process will appear, so you may find that during this period DNA search doesn't retrieve all content on the site.
During the re-index the servers are likely to be slower than usual. We apologise for the reduction in performance, unfortunately it is unavoidable.
Thanks for the heads up, Peta!
Mikey
Although frustrating it has had it's brighter moments.
On searching for entries on 'exile' it brought up an entry on Butlins Holiday Camps
Sounds like the database making an editorial comment
Well quite a few of Butlins' Holiday Camps were former POW camps weren't they? They have ways of making you have fun
Peta for the info!
I spoke to Jim earlier. He said that this time they were processing the index in batches, in order to try to avoid the problems thatwe experienced last time the search was indexed (after the upgrade).
Apologies for the very non-technical explanation there, I'm sure Jim could explain it much better - but he's away re-indexing the search!
Traveller in Time searching the Guide(s) "Is the Search fully functional again?"
He looks up ing *I have loads of keyboards, sorry, this one still has the double quotes.
Just curious, can we have a list of nonindexed words or do we have to find them left out for ourself?*
