I'm a sci fi freak and proud of it. Actually, now I'm a middle aged sci-fi freak, but I can still get that opening scene of Star Wars thrill when something great comes out of science fiction.
I blame BBC 2 for that. True it was BBC1 that first introduced me to sci fi through Doctor Who (and thank you Russell T Davis for bringing back both the show and my beloved Sarah Jane Smith), but it was the science fiction film festivals that BBC2 used to run, usually on a Tuesday at 6pm, that turned me from an innocent to an addict.
I love all sci fi, but count amongst my favourites Sapphire and Steel, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, the Prisoner (of course)and Red Dwarf (double of course).
On the day I die I expect my coffin to be wheeled into the burning chamber to the sound of the five tones from Close Encounters of the Third KInd.
