Mind over faith

redls52 writes about The Chrysalids

John Wyndham

1955

Book: The Chrysalids.
Author: John Wyndham

Encapsulated. Would you recommend this? why?

A must read for anyone new to sci fi. Well written, thoughtful and thought provoking.

Time and Space: When and where I first encountered it

Not sure of the exact year but it was the first sci fi book I ever read.

Recollection and revelations

Given the book by my cousin's fiance. It started a life long love of the genre. Already interested in history, I was fascinated by the description of familiar things as they might look after a nuclear war. I was able to use sections from the book when I was teaching to illustrate many themes...Intolerance, continuing evolution etc.

Before this...

None

After This

All of John Wyndam's novels...foar a start

Having discovered Sci Fi, I have continued to explore the genre
