Best. Film. Ever.

George Lucas

1977

Film: Star Wars.
Creator: George Lucas

Encapsulated. Would you recommend this? why?

Probably the most famous SF movie of all time, Star Wars has entered modern culture on every level. At heart a basic story of good versus evil, delivered with a wonderful, unpredictable panache. Varied creatures and spellbinding effects combine to deliver a classic in every sense of the word.

Time and Space: When and where I first encountered it

I honestly can't remember the first time I watched the original Star Wars trilogy. It's literally something I grew up with (on VHS, sadly too young to see them at the cinema until the Special Editions).

Recollection and revelations

When you're a 8,9,10-year-old boy, there's nothing more exciting in the world than Han shooting Greedo, Luke fighting Vader, the battle of Endor (Leia in a bikini, lol)... all legendary. George Lucas is a true creative genius.
