Mindblowing!

barrielipscombe writes about Quatermass and the Pit

Nigel Kneale

1958

TV: Quatermass and the Pit.
Creator: Nigle Kneale

Quatermass!

Encapsulated. Would you recommend this? why?

Yes I would. What a fantastic story that mingled Sci-Fi and Horror and mystery into a story that never let up or shrank from it's full implications! Even as a child it made me think!

Time and Space: When and where I first encountered it

Was a child living at home ... about 10 or 11

Recollection and revelations

It scared me, it intrigued me, it made my wonder what life and the universe was really about! I guess it also embodied an underlying philosophy that, although we began as 'animals' ruled by our instincts and primeval urges, we can grow and change and be more ... we can use our intelligence and minds to reach new hieghts.

Before this...

Quatermass II

I only remember small parts of it but it scared me!

After This

War of the Worlds

Nothing ... for a long time. Then I turned to books and read H G Wells
