Fantastic Science Fiction of its day

I think i ws about 10

Bring Back Blake

On the Beeb can't remember when.

sexy.class,electric.

the first day of the first season,at home with my wife also a fan but Avon was her fav.

Avon, Blake, great!!!

My father introduced me to Blakes 7 as a young child; I was soon engrosed in the universe ruled by the tyrannous Terran Federation and the band of criminal freedom fighters.

Its mine!!

1978 when I was in my final year of high school here in Australia. I was 16 in a small town in north of Australia - it was fabulous. The only TV shows that had any impact on me at that time were British - a sad commentary on the state of TV in Australia at the time. All I can say is thank god for the ABC(Aunty) and the BBC!

Beware the Federation!

I first watched in 1978 and I was in my last year at primary school. I was 10 years old

Servalan,Avon

mid twenties, when first transmitted

Avon's the man!

Oh, I was at junior school and would discuss it with a friend during that week's swimming lesson. The truth is I only saw odd episodes, much as I loved SF at the time, I'd usually ather be out playing. It wouldn't be till years later I saw all the episodes, having picked the videos up at boot fairs only to eventually replace them all with the DVD's. I'm watching series 4 again now, it's fantastic, though I know 'the bad thing' did is about to come up soon, I get a cold shiver just thinking about it. It forever sours the strange relationship between the series two main stars, Vila and Avon. Yes, essential though Blake was, he wasn't much fun.

I fancied Vila!

I would only have been 6 or 7 when Blake's 7 was on, but I was allowed to stay up and watch it as a special treat.

Overacting a-go-go

The whole family watched this.

Ultimate SF series

I watched the original broadcast and was about 11 years old at the time.

twisted

Originally 1978 - I would have been 3, but would have seen it much later when repeated in the early 80s.

Happier, simpler times.....

I was told about the programme around 1980. I liked Dr Who, and this was 'similar'.

MUST see TV

1978 10. at home, was a doctor who fana nd a bit sniffy about this new show, missed most of first episode, but saw last scene and hooked thereafter

Intense

I was fourteen or fifteen and watching television by my parents at home.

Very good viewing.

70s and married with three kids.

Hooked me on storyline

I came across this quite late in 1979, missed alot of early episodes but enjoyed every second. I was 9 sitting at home and the first thing i remember was the title sound track

Surprising

9 - blissful 9

Great classic tv

I remember Blake's 7 from 1978 I watched it right from the first episode with my parents I was 5 years old

good scripts

Actually I'm doing publicity around the audio and TV revival so hadn't really watched it till a couple of years ago when the producers sat me down in front of the TV with a box of DVD's. But it was great fun to watch a cult show that actually lived up to its reputation.

Brutal camp classic

I was 7 when the first episode was transmitted in January 1978. I clearly remember Episode 2, 'Space Fall', with the emergency foam squirty stuff being used to plug the holes in the spaceship, and the poor unfortunate chap being drowned in it. Also the nasty spaceship captain being sucked out of the long tube into the vacuum of space left its mark on this poor impressionable kid!

Blakes Heaven? CONFIRMED!

1978, fighting my sister over control of the TV. Blake vs. Coronation Street every Monday...and the spoilt 8-year-old (me) won. Most times!

personal memories

My parents were huge fans and so I was told that we would be going to a Blake's 7 convention, so I made my mum let me watch all the episodes, I can't have been much older than 5. The convention was wonderful. I remember I drew a picture for Paul Darrow because Avon was my favourite character, and my mum went and gave him the picture, it was so embarassing but he seemed to like it, he even gave me a kiss on the cheek. My mum was so jealous. Then to top it off, later that day I won a prize in the costume competition (probably because I was so young) and Gareth Thomas gave me a medal and kiss. My mum was doubley jealous.

Did they die!!!!!!

1978.The BBC Radio Times. The Liberator splashed across its front. Then sat by the fire watching the TV.Just after I didn't revise for my A levels.

Freedom

The very first episode (1978). At home. 8 years old.
