TV: Battlestar Galactica.
Creator: Glen A Larson

Encapsulated. Would you recommend this? why?

There were little kids in space on the Galactica. It could have been me! If you want a sci fi show that kids can relate to - get one with their contemporaries in it!

Time and Space: When and where I first encountered it

I was 6 so to me the Dacket - the fluffy dog robot in BSG was just the best pet ever. It was tea-time viewing at weekends (I think) and we used to sit around as a family and watch it. I was the youngest and it was a time we were all together. I always remember my mum would knit during the show - as she didn't like it - but she stil sat through it.

Recollection and revelations

I developed a huge crush on Dirk Bendict (starbuck). He was the first picture I hung on my bedroom wall. I met him 23 years later and I turned back into that 7 year old girl - and was completely incoherent. It was fantastic - to be able to feel that excited again. It doesn't happen that often. I now watch the new BSG - but I still think Starbuck should be a guy.

Before this...

Doctor Who

Cybermen were much scarier than Cylons - so BSG never scared me like Doctor Who did. That was and still is the Coolest show on earth. Love it!!!!!

After This

Star Wars - A New Hope

I was eventually allowed to watch it. I'm still a fan of it to this day. It's a classic -and Han Solo would kick Starbucks bottom.
