Take a tour of an infinite number of alternate Earths.
Best described as a cross between The Time Tunnel and the Star Trek franchise's famed Mirror Universe episodes, this dimension-crossing adventure series propels a mismatched group of "Sliders" on a tour of parallel Earths.
During their quest to return to their home, the reluctant travellers find themselves in a series of weird and wonderful situations. They also learn how life on Earth can be radically altered by only the slightest change in history.
The show is at its best in the amusing and provocative satire-driven first two seasons, and the action oriented fourth. This latter pitted the Sliders in an ongoing battle against the dimension-conquering Kromaggs.
Season five, on the other hand, propelled Sliders into oblivion. It combined uninspired scripts with a painful absence of most of the original cast, including the ever-engaging Jerry O'Connell and deliriously larger-than-life John Rhys-Davies. The show came to a close in 2000.
