In Depth

The Invaders

The aliens are invading - and one man must convince a disbelieving world.

This Quinn Martin show combines the premises of this influential series The Fugitive and Jack Finney's Invasion of the Body Snatchers. Architect David Vincent (Roy Thinnes) stumbles over an invasion plot by shapechanging aliens.

Running about from episode to episode, he gets involved with strangers in soap-style trouble, and repeatedly thwarts whatever the aliens were plotting that week.

A 1995 two-part revival mini-series revealed that Vincent was still out there fighting the invaders and introduced Scott Bukula as a new alien-buster. Sadly this fine effort didn't lead to a continuing show.

Work nominated by greydj.
