In the metal shop at Lucy's in Jericho chopping up 8' by 4' sheets of 3mm steel for manhole covers using chalk as a measuring device and chopping off the tape in the guillotine-a huge device 8' wide that sliced steel like butter. very dangerous and appallingly paid. Some old chap came round every afternoon like young Mr Grace(for your older viewers) saying "you're all doing very well....." Dickensian and most character forming-possibly.
