BBC Memoryshare_Norfolk on behalf of Sarah Kings's memory of 14th February 1966
As a child, Valentine's Day was up there with Christmas, Easter and birthdays.
We always looked forward to that knock on the door on the dark winter evening as Father Valentine (or Jack Valentine as he was sometimes known) came calling.
He would leave small gifts for the children in the family. Nothing expensive or elaborate, just a comic and a few sweets.
As we grew older we became more curious about the true identity of Father Valentine. We'd watch mum and dad like hawks to catch them out.
The mystery was solved one frosty evening when we heard the familiar knock and opened the door to find dad sprawled over the icy path!
