This was the date i married my first wife
the wedding cake cost £ 8.00 -the bridal dress-£ 11.00-the reception 7/6p per head the hire of the room at the duke of York on burton road cost 3 pounds.and the honney moon on the Italian riviera cost about £60 00. I was earning about £20.00 per week the weeks shopping used to come to £2-10 shillings,i could fill my petrol tank for 15/-shillings.
and by the way our terraced house cost us £1200-00 .yes those the
days hard believe
