and Impressive bowling by Panesar. I am impressed by this guy. Despite so much pressure of crowd laughing at him and coach not fully supporting him even after 8 wickets in the last match, the guy came back v well. Loop, turn, good line and length, the guy had it all.
I am also happy for the recovery made by Pakistan's lower order. Nazir batted v well and Kaneria used the long handle to good effect. Backed himself and it paid dividends.
After being 6-451, it could be all over for 480/490 given Pakistan's tail but well done boys.

Excellent job by Kaneria and Nazir, they frustrated the England side with that stand of 42 runs for the last wicket. Kaneria might bowl the first over.

totally agree.
It was a good job by the tail-enders closing the lead after the fall of quick wicktes.
Now if the bowlers can cause a bit of a stir to get things going their way,it would go well with their batting efforts.

good fight back by Pak, turning out to be an absorbing test now..good luck to Pak, hope the series is kept alive by a victory, but I guess a draw is equally good for Pak.

Agree with all your points Saeed. Monty's catch was well taken - must have been lots of pressure on him when he saw it coming. As for Kaneiria very good work, he suffered on a non-spinning pitch but tried really hard when he bowled, and he did really well with the bat.

Full credit to Pakistan. When pakistan started their innings, I did not expect them to surpass England's because they were down after the innings defeat. But they came back strongly to have a lead of 23. Well batted Y & Y. What a year it has been for Yousav.

wa alaikum us salam my brother good to see you yaar. yeah its been a great day of cricket and some rediculous moments. YK and Inzi really got out needlessly. but I am grateful to Almighty for where we are . Sami started well but let's see what happens tomorrow, Allah willing.

I liked Samis fisrt over - he bowled quick and thats he should stick, not bowl line & length crap

yeah well said 100 mph. Although Sami doesn't bowl the line and length either, he just gets slow and gets spanked.
Another aspect that people have not commented much is the running between the wickets in the partnership of Yousuf and Younis. Yousuf is a dangerous partner because he has a tendency to stride down the pitch on every ball. Cricinfo was commenting yesterday and Ramiz, Nasser and Younis himself that there is a good understanding between these two.
Younis understands yousuf well and as a result they are used to having large partneships together.

saeed i think moyo and yk have had a fantastic partnership records between them, espeically over the past 1 year
i just hope pakistan are positive tomorow, and inzi sets positive fields - yes of course batsman will score runs but Pak have to take wickets if they want to win

100mph and saeed,
How can i forget younis and yousuf, they were the thorn for india. They both actually scored heavily against india in pakistan. These 2 together do pretty well.

Saeed, I think the top four will be positive (lets faces it Tresco and KP really dont do anything else). If they dont get it right then look to Bell and Colli to really dig in. Then things may not be pretty - but I hope they can do the business. The big questions are can the openers see off Gul with the new ball, and will Kaneria get any help from the pitch - it doesnt really seem to be wearing yet. Theres no way England will declare without a lead of 270 I dont think so you need to bowl us out. Good luck, and speak to you tomorrow, off to my local pub quiz now

Well Done Pakistan... I remember, in late 90's / early 2000's Ganguly/Dravid used to forge partnership every now and then...I am seeing a similar trend between Younis/Yousof now...They must be having an EXCELLENT understanding for sure...They must be enjoying each others company[ofcourse on the cricket field only ] Hats off to them for taking pakistan to a possible winning position...4th Day should decide the course of the match...Again, Well Done Pakistan..

thanks stirfries for the interesting comments viru, yeah i know about their partnerships against India but i wanted to see them outside the subcontinent. Younis especially did well in the last test as well. Lardy, thanks for the comments mate. It all makes sense as well. Let's see what happens tomorrow.
