Still 260 runs ahead with a lot of cricket left to play and you guys are all praying for rain!!!
This are not the virtues of a champion team (or its fans)..........England you have a long way to come before you can emmulate the Aussie teams of the last ten years.
You even have a long way to come before you can be justifiably mentioned in the same breath...
Pathetic !

and you haven't even set us a target yet. Only second day, long way to go yet, mark my words your 4 man bowling attack will have a lot of work to do when we come back into bat, so you'll need a big total to keep us interested.

I tell you what jumpy, if australia hadn't won the ashes for 18 yrs or so, i'd bet you'd be praying for bad weather if you were in the position that england find themselves in now.
They'll be rain, but it won't alter the result of this match i feel(unlike the rain that saved australia at old trafford).

So, what are the virtues of a champion team? Boasting about a 5-0 win, but being 2-1 down with 1 test left? Celebrating a rain affected draw at OT as if you'd won the Ashes? Taking the light, when you need to win to square the series (note - square, not win)? Please tell us.

im only pandering to the wims of the johnny come lately fair weather fans on this web site !!!! These chumps have been on about how great England are .....so now they should not be worried and should not even want the rain! Youre still 260 runs ahead, Aussie batting is brittle and as they say "cricket is a funny game" . Thats my beef with this website - too many first time cricket supporters who jumped on the bandwagon spewing up crap..................and now .........

If you dont like it, leave. Nothing is forcing you to post. I'm sure we'll cope without your "insight" into the game.

Hey, I'm not praying for rain Jumpo. All I could dream of in this series is that we could show that we have a side that can take on and beat the Australians. I want to see us go on and do it some more. If you beat us, well done, you'll have played well to beat a fine side.
2-2 or 2-1 or 3-1, an era is over. We have years of competitive Ashes series' to look forward to now. I'm not saying we're going to win them now, but we'll go into them with a realistic chance.
Anyway, this game is still in its infancy, and i for one don't want it wiped out by rain.
Shame about the fifth bowler though....

Jumpy, im sure of you asked a lot of English fans they'd agree your lot have played pretty well so far. Its not so much that we want rain, but if its going to help then why not accept it? Im sure you would take it in the same situation.
As for your batsmen, and if the rains that bad do you not think they should have stayed out, because you're wasting time in there.

Not on Day 2 !!!!! Sure if this was Day 4 and it was looking dire, then pray for rain...... Its ridculous to be selling your team short on day 2 of a test match in a test series which you all reckon you have dominated. Show some bloody heart !

Whatever Jumpy.
A nice lightening strike just outside off is OK by me.
Thanks for the advice though. Your personal contribution to Australia's success makes you wonderfully suited for offering it.
A Pity then it is so often unasked for, self righteous, childish and utterly utterly boring.

The day lost to rain at OT could have settled this series, we would be playing a dead rubber now, so its nice to see that the rain is here and we may benefit this time. Swings and roundabouts, thats the game, love though dont you?

im not crying into my beer yet ! sh** happens. im disappointed because the Aussie openers were doing ok (for a change) and to make this game as exciting as the last three, Oz need to be in with a chance of a win on the last day ! i think there is a lot of cricket left in this game so me thinks that you need to be praying for a helluva lot of rain !
