Well if that's it for the day it's been dissaPONTING at the end (sorry!).
Hopefully play will be more cosnistent tomorrow - KP and Flintoff to crack on. Predict a high 300 score and Aussies to be 87-2 at stumps.
Everyone have a pleasant evening (except burnett). I'm sure I'm going to have dreams about swiss schocolate, boats and women rugby players!
Speak to you tomorrow!!!!

thats 430 if you go back to the start of the KP/Freddie partnership I'll take that as a start yeah ... 229 for 4 is ok .... 400 is a possibility still i think ..... we ought to get 135 from kp. fred, jones & extras with giles the the three tail enders making us 80 (including their extras).... In a ODI it is considered ok to have your number 6 and 7 batsmen with low averages, cause generally they have to bat for the slog overs and have to get on with it with little time to get in, but can the same excuse be used in Test cricket, we see so many teams having number 6 and 7 batsmen (all-rounders as well) with very ordinary averages.
Is it ok for Flintoff, Jones, Razzaq, Oram, Boucher etc etc to have such averages? I mean they aren't bad players, and they don't have bad averages but maybe it is high time that teams set themselves higher standards in the batting department.

I'm off now so night all
Here's to tomorrow being hassel free on the board, Ive had enough of egotistic b**tards trying to exert their power (or lack of it) to people who really dont care
*chink*
p.s. bet MV is mighty annoyed at getting out to the ponters. They probably had a running bet..

you want good averages, but often at 6 and 7 in both variations it is common to either make a pretty big score or be out for single figures. averages don't really represent the play-more important to have the high averages at the top of the order.

England have been very average today. Pietersen in particular has looked very shakey at the crease, and there is simply no excuse for a specialist batsmen to be gotten out by what isnt even a part-time bowler, especially at this level. Weve shown that to beat the aussies we must be on the top of our game, and today we havent been anywhere near it.

The trouble would be getting someone at 6 or 7 who does have a good average to continue to bat so low down the order. An average of 30-35 justifies their position. Gilchrist wouldn't put up with it at number 7 if he were not the wicketkeeper.

I wish KP 124, AF 83, GJ 72, Rest of them 70. This makes a total of about 550. It is possible.
