Ponting's been given it!! You should have listened today! Warne had a great game no doubt but Pontings knock today when England threw everything at him he knicked it in my mind! DO YOU THINK SO ??
Sorry I called it before you logged on!! Followed it all today and Ponting, I feel, deserved it, great knock!!WARNE MUST GET MAN OF MATCH!!!
Saved the first innings bowled good and batted good warne should have been man of match!! Quoted from

To be fair, we had very little time to bowl at genuine tailenders. Gillespie was dealt with satisfyingly quickly, but while Warne isn't referred to as an all-rounder he really can bat (just have a look where he's sitting in this series' batting averages...) and his stand with Ponting prevented us getting stuck into the remaining genuine tailenders.Quoted from
this message
They can bat a little. But it is still worrying when they are being allowed to score more runs than the upper order. It says you do not know what to do with them. If they bowl line and length to Warne ball after ball after ball then he will nick one sooner much rather than later. I'm sorry but with Australia 7 wickets down with over two hours to go, Australia haven't saved a draw here, we've snatched defeat from the jaws of victory.

In general, it's a shame there wasn't a "proper" result in the end, as it was a great match that deserved one team to win. Still, Ponting's awesome innings certainly paved the way for a great match, so kudos goes to both teams.
Had there been no rain, then perhaps England would've won, or perhaps Australia would've sneaked it. Retrospect is all fine and dandy, but guessing that A would've changed B doesn't really hold much grounding seeing as none of us know for certain what would've happened.
I wish KP could catch a ball. On the flip side, great catch G Jones.

I'm sorry, but being new to cricket, and seeing that the weather can affect a result, I think I'll be returning to footie where a draw really is a draw.
The result of the Ashes is now a sham.

It was Ponting's knock that saved you more than anything. If he had gone early then you would have been in very deep do do's. One thing I'll say for Warne, his batting average is a lot higher than your IQ.

If the Ashes series results in a draw, then I think everyone will be a little peeved, as everyone wants to know who's on top - England or Australia.

Ah, that old chestnut. It wasn't a defeat, it was a draw. And while it was extremely disappointing not to win it from a commanding position, I still think this England team are playing excellently right now and Australia (in particular Ponting and Warne) had to play out of their skins to pull off the draw. I don't think we threw away a victory cheaply, Australia battled very impressively to save themselves.

I am also fairly new to Cricket, and particularly test matches. But i've been watching this one intently and I have to say, enjoying every minute of it. I thought this was a fantastic match to watch and will probably watch Cricket a bit more often now. However, and this is a serious question, not an attempt at poking fun at the sport - How disapointing is it to play for 5 days and end up drawing?? Would it not be possible to keep batting until all batsmen are out and then the winner is obviously the side with the greater amount of runs? Or is that a daft question? Be nice!

You're not a bit concerned that we keep letting them off the hook or almost off the hook? Sooner or later the Australian upper order is going to come to the party and when they do we could be in trouble. I don't want to sound negative, honestly I don't, but we don't look like we have any idea about how to knock the tail over. I have to say this isn't even exclusive to Australia, I said on another board before the seires began that my one main concern that was England struggled to finish off tailenders.

This is surely the start of English dominance in the game. Our squad is young and fresh and can only get better whilst the Aussies are in decline with ageing players at the end of their careers.Who will they turn to for spin when Warne retires. You must be joking! You tell me of any football match anywhere as thrilling as the last two test matches! I like football, and my team is in the Premiership this year, but after watching match of the day this weekend I don't think I'll bother again. This test has been pure drama and excitement from start to finish. It isn't predictable, isn't paid by overpaid prima donna hooligans and the weather adds to it. Enjoy your premiership this year, where only a few games really make a difference and the difference between success and failure can be measured in monetary terms. Harsh? Probably, but fair I think.

You really are very new to cricket, aren't you? The problem with rain isn't the players getting wet, it's because it'd bugger up the pitch if you let it get soaked. Sham my ar*e.
