our fielding has been poor, the bowling has been shocking and even chris read the best gloveman in england has looked sloppy, surley this cant be down to the fact weve already won the series

It must be all Read's fault.

After all we all know that the keeper sets the tone for the whole team in the field and it's his sole responsibility whether we win or lose.

You will fear the sight of timmy bresnan running in to bowl whistle

Seriously though, if england pick the same side as they did against sri lanka, pakistan will win the odi series easily.

Pakistan will win the ODI series regardless of the team England pick.

Maybe, maybe not.

Pakistan are big favourites, but i think england will be slightly better than they were against sri lanka.

What's wrong with England?

Ask the Captain - that is where the problem lies. If he has been unable to instill the enthusiasm and fight into his players then he should not be there.

It is all well and good to captain a winning team when the going is easy but when the tide turns, then that is what makes a truly good captain.

Strauss is not yet there. His mannerisms today were appalling Oliver, as indeed was the effort put in by Harmison and co. Monty was the only bowler IMO who showed any sign of bottle.

now are you trying to say that Flintoff should be made captain? cmon, at least Strauss, much like Inzamam, at least pretends that he is thinking.

It almost seems as if the writing is on the wall for the winter if todays display is anything to go by. No spirit, skipper and harmison were to blame .They have won the series therefore lets not bother lads. Where is their pride and will to win

This is the first time Strauss' captaincy has come under pressure, and with situations like this inevitable in Australia, he'll struggle.

Pakistan outplayed england
If Asif had been there the whole time
i have no doubt this type of thing would have happenned almost everytime
Pakistan plays of emotion while england plays of momentum
One change to pakistans bowling and they fall apart just like that

its not just the captains job to lift the team, the wk and slips need to encourage the bowler and keep him confident, as no mid on and off if they are near

I should say that it was a morphed performance by the English. I got the impression that probably, they watched a voodoo film night before.

After 5 minutes of the first ever cricket match, angel one turned to angel two and said, "You know what, short-pitched bowling seems to me to be absolutely rubbish bowling". Yet after watching Asif pitch the ball up and bowl them all out yesterday, still I have just been treated to forty-five minutesworth of cuts, hooks and pulls, courtesy of Mahmood and, mostly, Harmison, who in this kind of form wouldn't get into the Durham second team. It is ABSOLUTELY APPALLING. Highlights there were not.

it was because Sami was playing, not a player lacking. he just brought the morale of the team to a stinking low every time he had the ball. Pakistan lacks the power to make prompt decisions. Sami should have been out of the team a couple of years ago. They dropped sami now which was a good decision. I think Inzamam's decision to bowl first was a brave decision, too, and for the first time he has shown a resolve to make a decision himself, not go with convention.
