If what Troy Cooley says is true (and why would we doubt him?) the intransigence of the EBC in failing to offer him a two year deal is incredible!

He was always going to go back as he said, contact negs always take a while this way like a typical aussie he has somebody to blame so is happy.

Good luck to him and thanks for his work, but I have no time for anyone that cries at the press when they dont get their own way, this will be by no means the difinative story. He is just enjoying painting himself as the victim. Only truth is, somebody offered him more wedge so he left.

And what does he 'have somebody to blame' for? He got the result he wanted but it isn't more wedge as you put it.

this is a disgrace, the ecb have forgotten the fundimental rule in business, "never bite the hand that feeds you" and the only reason the ecb got 220 pounds is becasue of a great england team, and the england team were great for winning the ashes and they won the ashes beacuse ..... troy cooley got englands bowling together, this is a disgrace, i am a fit man physically but when i read the telegraph article i grabbed my arm as an england fan i thought i was having a heart attack, i am livid with the ecb, so short sighted, tehy should be hung for what they have done, they are trying to cut corners when it is not neccessary, it is an outrage i am so annoyed at the ecb they should be sacked all of them every single on, shame !

they should have offered him 1500000 pounds a year, why not they can offered it, he has helped make cricket sexy, he is raised the interest of the game by transforming the england bowling attack to a fabulous four, the most fearsome in the world when they bowl in tandem, this is awful, a disgrace by the ecb,

Yes, but you are painting him as greedy. Who knows what goes on behind closed doors... if some members of the press want to have a go at him I see no reason why he can't respond.

Another classic ECB stuff up along with the very poor handling of Graham Thorpe's tenure.
Oh well, looks like the Poms will just have to buy another Aussie coach for the next Ashes series, although I reckon your gonna need more than a bowling coach. smiley
Maybe the ECB should think about hiring an Aussie coach to help with their ODI game?

A lot of irrelevent balls on this thread. The story is as follows:

(1) Cooley did a great job for England.

(2) He was happy to coninue in return for a 2 year contract.

(3) The ECB wouldn't give him more than one year.

(4) The Aussies snapped him up.

dohdohdoh
