Afternoon all,

We're after your genuine lowest ever scores either by your side, or by a side you bowled out, or whether you were just watching.

Can you beat the 5 scored by Goldsborough 2nds? Every batsman was out for a duck and the runs came via extras - more on the story here: news.bbc.co.uk/sport...

Not beating that score, but when playing for an U15s side many years ago, we bowled out our opposition for 7 - our opening bowler returned figures of 7-0 and I was then promoted to opener to knock the runs off - took me two overs mind laugh

Anyone better that?

Can't better that.

Best I can do is the occasion when my Secondary School bowled out Swanley School for 10 in that glorious summer of 1976. My off-breaks secured took 3 for 2, the two runs coming from an experimental leg-break which went a little adrift; the skipper issued a stern rebuke "C'mon, Rob, no funny stuff".

the worst in a side I was in was 12!

I've posted this one before, but in the circumstances it deserves to be repeated:

Some 15 years ago I was playing in the lower divisions of the local 20 over midweek league and we came up against a newly formed side. They won the toss and invited us to bat - I opened the innings and square cut the first ball of the match for 4. I repeated the stroke to the next ball, only for gully to take a blinding catch.

Crestfallen, I made my way back to the pavilion, but by the time I had my pads and gloves off the whole team had been dismissed for 5, with the opening bowlers sharing figures of 5-5 and 5-0 between them.

In the return game, later that season I was unavailable to play but we did significantly better. We were all out for 9 this time !!

I have heard of worse!

The chorley and district league record for the lowest team score was broken in the mid to late 90's i think, a game i didnt see but I used to play in the league.

Brinscall were skittled out for 3 runs!

Apparently the team catptain refused to go into bat at number 8 as he was so embaressed with the score at 2 for 6. Instead he went in at number 11 with the score at 3 for 9!!

Hi all,
We had an email from Robin Jobson earlier today who remembered a similarly poor show!

He wrote: Stanley B Cricket Club in the Fylde League in the Blackpool area were all out for THREE. First 9 guys got 0 and last two got 1 & 2 respectivlely. It made the back of the Blackpool Evening Gazette. My brother in-law was captain - Michael Boyle. I believe it took place on Cup final day 1988 when Wimbledon beat Liverpool a far bigger shock than our game!. I decided to miss the game to watch the match glad I did!! The team we played were Warton CC and the worst thing is we got them out for 40.

Cheers
Bridget

not a low score, just another unbeatable record i think. We played against a side last week who bowled 68 extras in a total of 250. Anyone beat that?

My club side once bowled 71 extras in a total of about 220.
(of which 64 came from one end)

I do remember playing for Reading Blue Coat School vs. Stonham in the late 1970's. Glorious summer day and we bowled them out for 5. Playing silly mid-on, I do remember taking 5 catches - a personal best!

Now I don't remember what age group it was but im thinking it was u15's. My club side Cranham were bowled out for 1 by Upminster. Im pretty sure the 1 was an extra. We only had 9 players that day of which one of them wasn't me. It made the back of the local paper so there is a record of it somewhere, surprisingly I don't think anyone associated with the club has kept a couple of report.

In about 1992, Bournemouth 2nds scored about 120 against Alton 2nds on a wet track at Chapel Gate, Bournemouth. Before Alton batted the Bournemouth Captain Mo Hanniff said "we're going to go out there and not let them get a run." and they didn't! Alton all out 0. Bowling figures, Alan Hayden 5-0 Ash Niak 4-0. 1 Alton player, injured while fielding, refused to bat. Apparently the umpire could take some credit with a few generous decisions to the home side. The result was even mentioned at tea during BBC television coverage.

We once played Ashdown Forest CC on our May tour. Their ground was set in a clearing in the beautiful "Winnie the Pooh" forest. In their pavillion they had framed local and national press cuttings about a match that they had played in and were bowled out for a total of zero.

Amazingly there were no extras conceded, the innings was remarkably long-ish (I think it was of the order of 10 to 15 overs) and their opener carried his bat! They did not blame a "dodgy wicket".

I've tried Google but I can't find documentary evidence to support this memory. Anybody else remember this or am I going senile? It would have been about the late 80's or early 90's.

Another 5 all out from this year:

Eltham College U13 Cup

Eltham won by 9 wickets
Forrest Hill 5 all out (J.Smith-Morgan 4 -1)
Eltham 6-1

Also, here's a good one from the University of New South Wales Dept of Mathematics, Australia:

15/01/04: All-Stats (AS) vs Mostly-Stats (MS)
MS First innings: 5 all out
AS First innings: 9 all out
MS Second innings: 24 all out
AS Second innings: 12 all out; lose by 8 runs

Unfortunately I played for the University of Teesside staff side in the early 90s and after the opposition hit 187 we were all out for 4. I top scored with 2 and we got a bye and a no ball. I was told the local paper said something like; 'University Staff get what 4'

I was lucky enough to be a part of a winning team at junior school - many many years ago !!

We played another primary school, and got them all out for 3 - and I took three or four catches, can't remember exactly, at silly mid off.

Then we sent in our openers and a four was taken off the first ball they bowled.

Cottingham primary was my school, Mr Ball our headmaster and halcyon days my recollection.
