Any skaters here? Boards and Blades is one of the most popular sections of the BBC South East Wales website. Share your thoughts on the best places to go in Cardiff, Newport, the Valleys and surrounding areas. Are the facilities being provided good enough? More info at bbc.co.uk/wales/sout...

I'm at the Aberdare roadshow with Sacha. She's a blading fan and has something to say - once when I was over my cousin's I was blading and we went down this big hill in the park and my cousin James was there. He was shouting and put me off skating. I was going down the hill and fell off on my bottom. He said "I think you're so rubbish I think you need a bumpad!". I love blading, but my blades are all soggy now cos my brother chucked them in the pool!

thinking about building an old skool longboard from the remains of a board i found in the lane behind my house.
anyone know any limitations on this, maybe the trucks wheels bushes restrict what can be done ?
maybe not.. any guidance would be much appreciated...was thinking a 48" heavy plywood deck no kicktail or nose, something to cruise on rather than anything else...

You're welcome to post the address of a website as long as the website doesn't contain any offensive material.
It's personal contact details (e.g. phone numbers and email addresses) that we don't allow.

Thanks - this website just looks like it's trying to sell us stuff. Can't see anything offering help and advice. Can you point us to the correct page?

i'm sorry but no - my son gave me the site name as he had used it before - i'll ask him for more information though. my only 'contact' with skateboards was taking him to casualty on numerous occassions before insisting he took up football as a safer option.

I don't think you'll find the skateboarding clientele here ie; young blokes with their trousers hanging off their @rses and the rest of their garb three sizes too big, lank hair, incomprehensible lingo etc. Oh dear the mods will be a long time living this one down, maybe they should put themselves on pre-mod for a month or two.....................just to set us an example?

Agree with Rich. As I said before one rule for one and another rule for another. Well it goes to show the mentality of the people of the BBC, but never mind if it is his fortie then its just up to him after all if we dont do what Andy says he wills stamp and scream and throw is toys right out of his pram
