What does everyone think about The Cymru Alliance?

The Alliance is the league for clubs across the north of Wales which offers the chance to win promotion into the promised land of the Welsh Premiership.

Buckley won the 2004-5 season with Glantraeth being piped into second place, but who do you think will win this season?

The league kicks-off tonight. Here are the fixtures:

Friday 12th August - Kick Off 6.30pm
Bala Town v Buckley Town

Saturday 13th August - Kick Off 2.30pm
Flint Town Utd v Penrhyncoch
Guilsfield v Llandyrnog
Holyhead Hotspur v Halkyn Utd
Holywell Town v Gresford Athletic
Llangefni Town v Lex XI
Llandudno v Glantraeth
Llanfair PG v Ruthin Town
Queens Park v Bodedern

Its a shame more of these clubs can't be helped to bring their grounds up to scratch so they can take their place in the Welsh Premier.

If only UEFA had given the FAW some money for that to happen, about say 1.5 million would do it.

Buckleys ground is up to scratch, they felt it would put too much hardship on their finances to go up this season, the players even offered to play for free!!

I think Buckley will get it again this season, lets hope Chester pay up the £21000 that they owe them maybe they'll go up next year!

Bala aren't to be sniffed at either, their backers really want Welsh prem football, and from what I've been told they pay quite well for cymru alliance

I remember Bala. They got to the semis of last years Welsh Cup. Got absolutely hammered though 4-0 by Rhyl.

Glantraeth vs Llanfair PG
What a good game, or it would have been had there not been such an inexperienced linesman who gifted traeth 3 goals, shocking, Firstly the traeth Striker shoved the llanfair Centre half who fell onto the ball, the liner flags looking as though hes flagging for the foul, this is not the case he has given a penalty. 1-1, Two of Traeth next goals were both clearly offside, the first the liner wasnt even looking, the attacker must have been 5 yards offside, this cost Llanfair the game, one which for the majority they were on top, If this league wants to be taken serious then it should start these young linesmen in lower leagues as they cannot cope and his performance was absolutely appaling

I watched holyhead last night and goalkeeper paul pritchard was outstanding.....he made 5 0r 6 great saves and 1 brilliant save in the first half were it was like gordon banks's save against brazil.... he shouldnt be playing at that standard he's to good to b in this league.,.. i saw him playing for glantraeth a few times but he wasnt really tested. Now i can see how good he really is... paul pritch should be playing at least third division in england

There' a lot more work to be done on the Cymru Alliance web site. Lots of the links to teams and players aren't up and running yet. Does anyone know when this is likely to happen ?

I agree. It's rubbish and was like that most of last season. Updates are very rare as well

Think you'll find the site is sorted, check for yourself at www.moldalexfc.co.uk

Having a closer look at buckleys site, it seems that the domain name has expired.

Registrar of Record: TUCOWS, INC.
Record last updated on 11-Dec-2003.
Record expires on 28-Jul-2005.
Record created on 28-Jul-2003.

taken from www.dnsstuff.com/too...

Wouldn't it be a shame if someone else was to buy that domain name and host something of their own on there?
