Im in Year 10 now and i am taking all core GCSE'S early. I took my first maths GCSE in march last year (when i was in year 9) and just did English coursework this week (3rd week of year 10) and i have a chemistry exam in January and a maths (module 2) GCSE in march.
do you agree with taking them early (and we can't even retake) or are you taking them in yr 9/10???

    Thanks
    xx

I'm starting most of mine next year (year 9).

To be honest, my school said that we can re-take ours.Which is fine for me.

So I'm not against in the slightest.

p.s- I think I can re- take because go to a grammar school. So it may differ for some.

I'm in year 10 too, and I find it very stressful and rushed the fact we have to start them early. I have exams coming up this month, Chemistry, Biology and maths.
And I seriously cannot keep up with all the revision!

Same here, I'm taking gcse's in form 4 (year 10) instead of year 11 (form5 from over here). Our education system is based on the UK system but our classes are called such.If i get all A* i could be promoted to Form 6(High School) without passing through the Year 11

I don't know how i will do it but i need to do it!

i am in year 10 and this year they changed the option so we only have one year to do some of are couses. i picked gcse geog so have 2 or 3 exam. i also picked betec media so don't have any exam. in june we are starting are year 11 options i picked long couse re so i have exam for that and betec sport so don't have exams for that. my school is an dt school so we had to take a dt. i picked grafics and we have to do are exam this year. same with maths. it is nice to get a so much choice and optinerty to take so manny subjects but as this is the first time the school has done this to me it is like the teachers don't know if we will get it all done so they are rushing us. as i am not very good at english we have less time to write notes or do couswork so i feel rushed. it will be inresting to know if they will do it next year.

Im in year ten myself, we took two GCSE's in in year nine, have taken an English GCSE recently and will be taking a maths GCSE in June.

With our school doing GCSE's early is totally optional, and we can retake if our results are not satisfactory.

If your school is forcing you to do GCSE's early without the option of a retake later on, speak to somebody. The doesn't sound right.

I'm in Year Eight, but do you think it's possible to take English GCSEs early - either this year or in Year Nine? I'm way above average, and I'm obsessed with the subject, but my teacher didn't tell me.
