Hi there,
Could anyone tell me why President Barack Obama got the Nobel peace prize?
I've been trying to figure it out but I haven't been able too. I've talked to mates, and teachers but they don't know either.
The Nobel Prize committee said he got the prize because he wants to take away all nuclear weapons and have peace in the world, nice thought, but then how come he won't destroy Americas nuclear weapons?
He might be a good president but I don't think he should have gotten the prize anyway, what do you think?

actually, obama himself didnt really know why he got the prize! he apparently 'changed the face of modern politics' by campaigning against guantanamo bay and nuclear weapons but, like you said, he hasn't actually done any of it yet. i don't think he should have got the prize either; there are plenty of other people who deserve it more than him.

I think personally it was just because people took it as a change in history the first african-american president. This means it symbolises peace among races.

He got the nobel peace prize because he has helped get rid of some of the racial tension in America.
