Physical Quantities, Symbols and Units

    The SQA produced a document detailing all of the quantities, symbols and units for each of the courses, from Int1 through SG & Int2, to Higher and Advanced Higher.

    It would be a very useful exercise to spend some time reminding yourself of the quantities, symbols and units for YOUR course, taking note of the exceptions, such as -

    + power, P, is always measured in watts (W), except where it is LENS power, which is measured in dioptres (D)

    + gain, whether voltage gain or power gain, has NO UNITS.
