We could have done so well.

We gifted them the game. 5 interceptions/chargedowns/fumbles.

On proper tries, we won 4/5-1.

EoS needs to go still.

Exciting game!

Irish players fearing a rout that would do their careers no good suddenly woke up. Too little too late, but perhpas the ramifications will force us to play better in future. That last half hour was back to how we were playing 2 years ago.

Well, don't forget that 5 of the tries were careless.

I think it wasn't too little too late, i think they have realised something, like wales did.

If they play like they have nothing to lose, like the welsh found vs new zealand, they might win.

This might just bode well. It might just be a wakeup call.

Ireland should have won that game comfortably. You gave at leat 4 tries away. ROG must be kicking himself as at least two of his errors lead to tries, although to be fair to him, I think he played his heart out. BOD looked good, which is a bit worrying for us Welsh.

France should have had a man in the bin in the last 10 mins. Don't think the ref could stomach getting on the wrong side of that French crowd.

Anyway, tough luck folks - I thought you were going to sneak it in the end there.

Thats entirely irrelevant, their complacency would have given us maybe 1 or 2 tries, it was irish heart that dragged a mauling to one of the most scintallating games of European rugby in years. Now that DOC (Awesome in the second half) will start next week, and Bowe and Corrigan won't be allowed anywehere near the team so Trimble and Horan/Best will start, and Darcy, Murphy, Leamy, Wallace and (god help us) O Gara started to play to their absolute potential, Ireland have a real chance of the TC.

........and as A Welshman you'll appreciate how hard it is with only 14 players.

Yes you did come back well i agree a great display. However the first 55mins by Ireland was probarly one of the worst international performances i have ever seen. T/C I fear not.

I felt good at the end of the game that there was a bit of fight in this Irish team. But O'Sullivan must be sacked immediately, for such a talented team it was the worst 55 minutes of rugby I have ever seen by an Irish team.

Yes we had good possession and territory but the game is about winning by scoring points. I had my head in my hands and even started laughing at the pathetic efforts of the Irish players, it really was that bad.

The plain fact is this game should have been won. Why is it that one year ago we were just about the best team in the world followed by a year of inept performances and the first 55 minutestoday were the worst.

We have never had better players in the last 20 years and we still lose games like this. Don't forget this France team lost against Scotland last week and they did nothing to deserve winning the game today, we just gave it to them on a plate.

The Game was Won, By the French.

You really don't think Ireland should have won this game do you?

And whats this Proper trys Sh1t, Dont intercept tries count? Don't Charged down trys count. I think you find they do, Just as Ireland got trys last week, or dont those count either.

Ireland in the first 55 min were shocking, Couldn't tackle, Couldn't Pass, Can't do the basics. Yeh Ireland scored some good trys in the 2nd half but was it a differant Irish side or did teh French just switch off after having a 40 point lead?

I agree, O'Sullivan must go, but who fills the role, It became obvious to me that the real leader of the team Paul O'Connell decided to throw out the gameplan once O'Callaghan came on and the forwards started playing a munster game. It lifted the whole team, yes the French had dropped their guard , yet the display was admirable.

Murphy who was criminal in first half once he got a pack in from of him doing the pick and drive surfaced and showed his true ability, because it became just like playing behind the tigers.

I suppose what conclussion I am coming to is Eddie, FFS, play a munster game up front the backs have so much talent they will naturally adapt and we will do far better.

Surely you can see that Ireland handed this game to the French on a plate. The French had no real part to paly in four of their own tries other than top say "thank you very much for giving me the ball, now I shall run unopposed under the post".

The French were booed off the pitch by their own supporters because they knew they had no right to have won that game.

Yes I do think Ireland should have won, but not on the basis of todays performance.

We have so much talent in this team and you can see that the players have no confidence in the way they are expected to play. We are in danger of falling into the abyss if we haven't already.

When is it all going to end?(todays game was a bit of an emotional roller coaster).

How can you say the french didn't have a part to play in 4 of their trys, So It was an Irish player that charged down another Irish players kick? And it wasnt a french player that intercepted Irish pass. Don't these count? OF course they do, Or should they not count because they didnt work for the trys. It was French pressure on a dreadful Irish side and made them make mistakes

End of the Day Franch scored more tries than the Irish.

Yeh they teh Irish did do stupid things but so did France in the 2nd half

Italy were not good enough or did not have the class. We did have the ability to win that game but played below our best and didn't. Simple enough for you.
