As most people who visit this board already know Islam is agianst the practice of money lending and charging Interest. As money everywhere now has become paper based and digital simply given value by government dictat (fiat money), the practice of printing money and loaning it carried out by private banks has become total and widespread, it is also a weapon for getting people in debt.

Westerners ( and I consider myself one) who have had a dubious State education and who are exposed to a corporate owned mass media, seem unable to comprehend the situation we are under. They still think they are free (this is where I am not in agreement with them). They of course act as if they want equality and freedom for everyone and they are very concerned about children being abused or married off when they are under age etc.

Yet these same people when shown how millions if not billions of children and adults in the third world suffer and die as a result of the banking system, will either change the subject or try to defend the bankers!!

A baby born in Sub-Sahara African is born owing 2000 Euros to the bankers, the baby will probably never see that much money in its whole life, it will probably die in infancy from malnutrition and poverty, yet the system that causes all this is defended and admired! Islam will put a stop to it, Islam is the saviour of the worlds poor and downtrodden.

""Islam will put a stop to it, Islam is the saviour of the worlds poor and downtrodden.""

No it won't. It is the people who believe in and implement Islam who could.

But IMO they are no less susceptable to the vagaries of human nature as anyone else - for example there is corruption by muslims in Muslim majority countries just as there is in non-muslims countries.

Islam will put a stop to it,

When? Islam has had 1400 years to save humanity, and it hasn't managed it yet. How long do we have to wait?

It would be nice to see Islam improving the lives of Muslims. When that happens, maybe people will start to take it more seriously.

When the Judeo-Christian slave traders went to Subsaharn African for slaves, they found well fed, healthy slaves to capture, transport on a perilous journey and sell, those same places in Africa today has malnourished and poverty stricken people, this is the result of Banking and money lending charging Interest.

Bono from the rock group U2 should have made that explicit when he campaigned against povery and third world debt recently.

Muslims are waking up to the fact that if they do not do something about this, they will have wasted their lives, this is the greates challenge with huge opportunities to make something of our individual lives.

    oh dear ,
the atlantic slave traders did not go and capture the slaves merely purchased them off willing local chiefs and the islamic slavers.

also think most of the poverty in that area is caused by the locals trying to kill each other .

    oh dear indeed,

It seems there are determened but completely blind individuals on this MB who want to say to my white, that no it is black. May I suggest you try and be abit more balanced.

"the atlantic slave traders did not go and capture the slaves merely purchased them off willing local chiefs and the islamic slavers."

And the point is what? They still found healthy individuals to take across the Atlantic in jewish financed ships using Christian sailors.

"also think most of the poverty in that area is caused by the locals trying to kill each other"

Yes of course let us completely deny the role of money lending bankers and interest, every new born child in these areas does not owe the bankers more than 200 Euros, its all made up.

considering the subject matter and the fact that the board is about to close, seems like an opportune moment to share this video on the Prohibition of Riba:

    Part 1 :

    video.google.com/vid...

    part 2 :

    video.google.com/vid...

even for non-muslims this is an interesting lecture, (you should just substitue "sunnah money" with the term "commodity money", since they seem to be the same thing)

smiley - erm so to you the 1.57 billion Muslims in the world, and the numerous reverts (or "converts" to you) who keep joining them, do not count as "people"?

Muslims are largely being misled by their current leaders, there are some pockets of truth emerging however.
