..... a mini film broadcast on the BBC in the 70's about an Australian roadtrain. My memory is sketchy, but I think it was broadcasted every day - maybe on BBC2 in the 70's. It was about the challenges of a trucker driving a huge roadtrain truck accross the Australian outback. I hope I didnt dream this and Im not going mad, but Im not convinced! Can anyone help?

Just a guess, but it could be Casey Jones..?
The only problem is, it's American.

Maybe you are dreaming; your description fits Outback Truckers which broadcast on Quest, Wednesday evenings at the mo. en.wikipedia.org/wik...
Lee, Casey Jones was about a railway train, not a road train.

There was a documentary series in 1985 called 'Classic Roadtrains' - viewable on YouTube.

I remember this programme being broadcast when BBC used to show trade test transmissions during the day in the early 1970's.
After a bit of googling I think it may be called "Cattle Carters"
Some of these transmissions were far more interesting than the current offerings, I particularly remember one called "Algerian Pipeline" which made the 7 year old me want to become a civil engineer. I didn't quite make it, I'm a surveyor working on the railways.
