The information given is not always correct.

Today (14th June 2013) I found out that I was not born in Hertfordshire which I always thought, but in North London.

Has London boundaries move or or has Watford moved in?

I think I know where this will go ..... It will go into the argument about the original historical boundaries of Counties versus the 1974 creation and re-alignment of county councils and their boundaries.
One poster told us that districts around Manchester are no longer in Lancashire but in Greater Manchester.
Very few addresses now contain the original county. I insist on putting "West Yorkshire" before my postcode in any correspondence.
