[Firstly an an aside as it's impossible to search for others' comments on "The Hour" - without finding every time the word 'hour' is mentioned!]

I heard that The Hour is not going to a third series, due to poor viewing figures. Great shame. It's no wonder it had poor viewing figures as I think the BBC were trying to keep the programme's existence secret!

I only discovered it after the first episode of the second series. I managed to find 1 of 2 online and immediately bought the first series on video.
It is superb, history, nostalgia, superb sets, several intriguing story lines and relationships, great acting of fascinating characters.

Please BBC you spend so much money on drivel, please continue with this excellence.

    AND tell people about it!

The Hour has been one of the best series that I have EVER SEEN, and that is no exaggeration. The acting is superb, the characters great, the storyline excellent. I real;ly cannot believe that the BBC are not commissioning a 3rd series. Are they mad?
This could give Mad Men a run for its money and it is British! I think the problem was it was not shown at a time when more people would have tuned in, because believe me once you get into it it is compulsive viewing.
So please, PLEASE it takes a great organisation to say it was wrong and give us our 3rd series.

So, we get : Blandings, Animal antics, The royal bodyguard, Richard Hammond`s Secret service and Citizen Khan..but not a 3rd series of The Hour ???

I can't believe this decision's been made- but the way the numbers are increasing on the online petition- www.change.org/en-GB... shows I'm not the only one! I've never seen a petition like this to save a TV show- and it would reflect very badly on the BBC if they ignored 10,000 licence payers. This seems to be a case of chasing ratings- which is disappointing from the BBC- unlike some other channels, I would have expected them to prioritise quality enough NOT to cancel a show as good as this, and one that's been nominated for Golden Globes and Baftas. Hopefully there might be a rethink here, in the face of public opposition.
