There have been a couple more images released, which I've just found on Bleeding Cool. One does indeed seem to confirm the aforementioned yellow object, and another showsa very familiar figure standing in the shadows behind Clara. I think it may be old footage inserted into new rather than an actual newly filmed scene, but he's there all the same... Certainly, it is he. Stock footage, clearly, but intriguing all the same.

I am starting to get anniversary fatigue, it seems that every day there is some new teaser, bit of hype, denial, counter denial.

Perhaps the upset has been caused by Moffat's own promise that Doctor Who would be 'taking over TV' this year, which is hardly the case when we've got less episodes.
When Steven Moffat talked about "Doctor Who" 'taking over TV' this year did he actually say that there would be stuff celebrating the anniversary throughout the year or just concentrated around the anniversary itself, which is November?
Perhaps many fans feel an episode celebrating 50 years of Doctor Who deserves more screen time - good god, a story about farting aliens got more screen time than the 50th.
We still don't actually know the official running time for the 50th Anniversary special (could be 60 minutes, could be 90), but if it only for an hour I should think it might have something to do with BBC1 schedules for the evening of 23rd November.
Perhaps I wasn't trying to 'blackmail' Steven Moffat, as Martyn so ridiculously puts it, perhaps I was making a bit of a joke at the fact many fans aren't too pleased that only 10 & 11 are featuring.
Glad I gave you such a laugh. Re only 10 and 11 featuring in the Special, do you actually have any proof that this is genuinely the case. I'd say not, you're just going on the information that has been made available. I doubt they would let us in on every single thing about the Special.
Perhaps I should believe what I read when past Doctors themselves deny featuring in the special and shoot down in flames on their twitter account someone who suggested they were fibbing about a non-appearance.
Well they would have to do that in order to maintain the secrecy.

BBC1's schedules for the 23rd of November this year should be based around one thing and one thing only. Some of us have been waiting decades for this.

Doctor Who Online confirmed every source they had said it was 60 minutes, I have yet to read anywhere of anything other than a 60 minute story.
If it clashes with The Bruce Forsyth Dancing Show make it a 2 parter 45 minutes each, one on Saturday one Sunday - appropriately enough it would allow for a cliff hanger.
The fact Colin Baker very fiercely shot down a fan in flames for saying 'he would say that to maintain secrecy' says to me they're not returning.

Some have speculated that, because it will be shown in cinemas as well, it will be a feature length story, but there is nothing, outside Wikipedia that seems to confirm this.

Surely the BBC's priority in November must be to remember the Kennedy assassination.
Wouldn't it be better to have a big celebration in 2015 for ten years of NuWho?

Only if Graham Norton can have a genuine part after his unscheduled voiceover in Rose with Nine and that pesky animated IPP over the cliffhanger of The Time of Angels.

Doctor Who Online confirmed every source they had said it was 60 minutes, I have yet to read anywhere of anything other than a 60 minute story.
I've seen sources claiming that it will be longer than 60 minutes, but that might be just speculation really. If it's 60 minutes, it's because the BBC have asked for a 60 minute episode. Just because it's the Anniversary Special doesn't automatically mean it should be longer.
If it clashes with The Bruce Forsyth Dancing Show make it a 2 parter 45 minutes each, one on Saturday one Sunday - appropriately enough it would allow for a cliff hanger.
Strictly Come Dancing will be on when the Anniversary Special airs, so I wouldn't be at all surprised if they go with a "Doctor Who" themed version for that night.
The fact Colin Baker very fiercely shot down a fan in flames for saying 'he would say that to maintain secrecy' says to me they're not returning.
Well, that doesn't really mean anything does it. If he's been asked to maintain secrecy, he's hardly likely to cave in to a fan on Twitter. No, he'd just do something like he did to that fan - "shoot them down in flames".

I was wondering in last Saturdays episode was the flying cap worn by Warwick Davis a homage to David Rappaport character in the Time Bandits?

Martyn, for the love of god, it is the 50th anniversary, it demands a decent length of an episode in order to fully pay tribute to the history of the show. How many episodes since 2005 have felt rushed trying to fit into a 45 minute format - I do not see how a 60 minute episode will be long enough without being rushed or failing to adequately celebrate and properly acknowledge fifty years of Doctor Who.
It was the ferocity of Colin's put down that I'm emphasising - he could have denied it quite easily but instead was annoyed about being accused of lying.

"It was the ferocity of Colin's put down that I'm emphasising - he could have denied it quite easily but instead was annoyed about being accused of lying"
Colin said he would love to do it as an ACTIVE Dr rather than a walk on part but recognised the physical changes that he has undergone would be difficult to reconcile so felt that he would also be doing a disservice to the show if he came back as he is today.
So he pretty much said he won't do it even if asked, not because he didnt want to but he would not do the show a disservice.

90 minutes would be good, but it doesn't look it's going to be that length. Still, a 60 minute story is more than capable of paying tribute to the 50 year history of the show.

Some of the episodes in the first year were a little rushed, however I felt they settled down somewhat after that until the ones this year, which although I've rather liked, have given me the impression of trying to cram too much in to the short running time.
I do not see how a 60 minute episode will be long enough without being rushed or failing to adequately celebrate and properly acknowledge fifty years of Doctor Who.
Pretty sure Steven Moffat is more than capable of writing a 60 minute episode that pays full tribute to the 50 year history of show without feeling in any way rushed or inadequate. We shall see in November.

I wonder if there is any chance of us getting the BBC America Specials?
They are doing a documentary about each incarnation of the Doctor and a story from each Doctor.
I have seen a couple of them that a friend in America recorded for me but why can they not be shown on the BBC.

I want these shown as well, the fact Doctor Who's 50th is getting better coverage in the US than the UK is awful.

Perhaps they will be shown once the current series has ended - plenty of time between now and November. Though you'd think they would have been trailed to whet the appetite.
