The BBC Narnia series are the best ever film adaptations of a book. They are faithful to the script; perfectly reflect the atmosphere and message created by C.S. Lewis; are perfectly cast and even the wonderful theme music transports one immediately into that magic land. So why is the BBC showing the big screen versions which are very ordinary, lack the magic and reflect none of the above? in fact they should have never been made. So BBC please show only your own versions and as often as possible.

Yes BBC. How dare you show movies of Hollywood blockbusters at Christmas! Shame on you!

Oh and the BBC versions of the Narnia stories were not the best ever adaptations. The animatronics - though supposedly pioneering - were awful at the time and look even worse now and I do remember wanting to slap Lucy very hard indeed.

As others have mentioned, the BBC Narnia stories look very dated to today's kids, so you will only see outings for their big film versions.

A good example would be "the Box of Delights" pioneering in their day but now.....

That said the boxed sets of these series are really cheap now, so easy enough to watch if you need to.

However, in the end I do find myself siding towards you a little, surely there is some time in the crud that is Flog It, Sell It weekend TV for a classic serial or two?
