Read this in the paper today and if true then its a disgrace. This is a great Saturday night family and if the BBC are looking to save some cash then there are plenty of other shows that could be chopped instead.......

The (Shine) production company has run out of ideas and inspiration (as shown by recent series), and has no intention of making any more of this.

Sounds like the producers choice to stop rather then the BBC axing it.
"Hats off to Julian and Johnny, the producers, for sticking to their guns with the five-season story arc of Merlin. It would have been too easy to give in to demand and stretch the show on beyond their original plan because of its incredible success. Instead, Merlin finishes at the height of its success and will, therefore, live on in people's memory." - Anthony (Uther) Head
