"Please note: Your Postings are being pre-moderated and will only appear after they have been approved by a Moderator."

This censorship is just the BBC showing other posters what is acceptable or not.
The news is a R4 programme, which we pay for.
I am sure some people will be glad to see the back of some of my 'devil's advocate' or 'inappropriate opinions' and they are just that.
OPINIONS.
The moderators job, however difficult, should be objective. And not a personal, subjective forum, where personal belief systems cloud the view.

A minor, pedantic point, but they don't show what is 'not acceptable' of course smiley

As someone who has moderated on a discussion board, the power to choose what is hidden /deleted has to go with plenty of judgement and sufficient strength of feeling that one can justify such decisions to other moderators who might question it, if one is felt to have mishandled a situation.

It is perhaps uncommon to be switched back from being able to post to having anything 'approved' and even that decision would not have been taken lightly, I suspect.

Any one of a group of around 40 people could be moderating your message to a standard set of BBC guidelines, and they don't see who's posting it, but if you wish to make a complaint about the moderation on the BBC website then please go to www.bbc.co.uk/complaints

This board is for feedback about Radio 4 programmes, not general news discussions. It is no more censorship to remove your off-topic posts than it is not to include crown green bowling in the BBC's football coverage. There's plenty of places both on the BBC website and the rest of the net where you can post your views on news issues.

We also reserve the right to remove offensive, racist, anti-semitic or otherwise objectionable material and to premoderate or ban users who post it.

Please re-read the terms to which you agreed when you registered on the site:
