This is really good news. I'd much rather watch TV from the comfort of my armchair that sitting at a computer desk.

When is it going to be available on freeview?

Since we all pay the same for our license and freeview is still more mainstream. They should wait and launch it on both together.

Why suggest Freesat people should wait just because we're the chosen platform ahead of Freeview for this Beta test? Bit selfish of you isn't it?

I have an Apple computer and had to wait longer than PC users before the BBC made iPlayer available to me. Although I was without the facility for many many months I didn't begrudge PC people getting the service while I waited my turn. It certainly wouldn't have made me feel any better if they'd had their service turned off until my computer was able to work with the software.

Freesat has HD on BBC and ITV whereas I gather Freeview doesn't yet. Would you like Freesat to cancel HD for us until you're able to get it yourself?

As a Freesat user who chose this service because I believed the technology to be superior to Freeview I am delighted that Freesat has been chosen as an early iPlayer platform and would be happy to be part of the Beta Test. BBC Testing department please take note!

Which Freesat platform? It would be good to have the iPlayer available on Sky's Freesat service.

it is good, however the bit rate needs to be increased, as on anything larger than a 21" television, the picture is particularly bad. iPlayer for mobile is also good for on the move.
