I haven't been on here for months but I hope some of you remember me!

We've been TTC for 27 months and nothing - not a thing.

I've been holding off doing anything about it although I did visit the Doctor about 18 months ago. I know I need to make an appt for a blood test & internal exam and DH would need a sperm test too. Month after month slips by but I don't do anything about it.

I think it would be good to know if there is a problem that we would need assistance with but I guess I'm not sure what we would do with that news.

DH thinks it will happen for us in time but I'm losing hope I'm afraid. I'm coming to terms with the idea that I may never be a mum but every now and them something sets me off and I get upset by that thought. Hence my return here. Thought it would be nice to see how many of you had got your BFP since my last visit!!

    Hi touchston3!!!!!!!!

    I remember you!!!

We are at 29 months TTC now its very over whelming i think. We gave up a long time ago but that was just worry and stress about not wanting the news I thought I was waiting for which was we wont ever have a family.

No happy ending as yet but still we got back on the TTC train and we have had test and test and test!! i had a lap and dye and a hysteroscopy and they have said that we can only go for IVF now. We have an appointment on the 20th which is thursday and I am very nervous AF hasnt shown he ugly head for 6weeks and I have an urge to take a test but as we know not much point in wasting my money on them!!

it is nice to know the Drs are moving it forward for us and honestly I wish I had the guts to go after 18months!! but like i said at least we did go and find out.

I went to see my GP and she got me to have a blood test and an extra smear and also referred us to the fertility clinic. they have done everything faster than I thought even though I want it all done yesterday!! April was my GP appointment and wwe know we need help and thursday is todiscuss how wwe go about it all!!!

    shock and excitement now!!!!

    Fingers crossed you read this!!!!

Take care and i hope you keep intouch

Thanks RS! I remember you too!

I went for my 21 day blood test about an hour ago! Step one!!

I should get my results back within the week although the nurse just said they'll let me know if there's anything wrong. I want to know the results regardless!

Next thing is to get DH in for his tests!!

That's us on month 28 TTC now and I will be 38 in March. We're at the stage now where we'd like to know what the problem is and how much help we need. If it's too much we might just resign ourselves to never having a baby of our own.

DH's beautiful daughters are 10 and 12 now and they are a joy but it will never be the same as having one of my own. I've still got very mixed emotions about he whole thing!

    Hi Cate,

    So pleased your here!!

We went for our appointment on the 20th and they have said there is an op I can have and we are on the waiting list for it. not really sure what it is though! But it is our last try before IVF. They had say IVF was next step but offered me this op. We decided we will try anything they offer really!! after this next op we then have to TTC for another 6months before we can go for the IVF.

DH tests were really bad the first test he had and his second test has improved alot too so we again have a little bit of hope..

I am 33 and DH 39.. we have spoke about adoption as an option and i think we may if we reach a negative end with IVF.

But at the min I am concentrating on enjoying the next few months before the next op then 6 months TTC again! hope i dont go mad every month like the past few years!

I do think it is ever easy to sort your emotions out.. its a very difficult part of life.. stressful and emotional..

But chin up and very good you have got to the Drs and are on the next path well done I hope it has given you a boost like it did with us.

    Take care

    Hope to speak soon

    RSxx

Got my test results today which said that my progesterone level was high - confirming ovulation. Of course I'm in the midst of AF now so it's on to month 29.

Now I've made an appointment for the 17th for an internal exam etc with a female doctor. Anyone been through this that can tell me what it will entail/what they look for? Is it just a smear test?

    Hi Cate

Good your ovulating! they have said i'm not but might do some months, how helpful..grrr..

I had to have a internal ultrsound/scan thingy. Is that what they have said or is it something diff? If its the ultrasound, mine was to check so see for any issues with tubes and health of womb etc..

    HTH

    take care

No it was just a physical exam, a smear and a couple of swabs. Nothing too invasive. The doctor said everything looked healthy, pink and normal!

DH put his semen sample in for analysis on Tuesday so we'll wait to see what that says.

After that the doc has suggested we both come in to discuss the next step.

I've started on the Paleo diet to see if that helps and I've also started taking Maca. Take a look into both. I highly recommend them.

So sad this board will be no more soon. smiley - sadface
