Hi everyone – As the title states, I’m afraid that we are going to close this board. I realise that this comes rather out of the blue for you, and I’m really sorry about that. First off let me say that we don’t want you to stop talking about lifestyle TV, we’ve found a new home for you on the Points of View message board, where you’ll be really welcome to talk about BBC television, including lifestyle shows - it's here, if you want to go and take a look www.bbc.co.uk/dna/mb...

Now, a little about the reason for the closure. Every message board on the BBC has to be hosted, and it seems that you’ve slipped through the cracks here and we haven’t been paying enough attention to you. Again, I’m very sorry about that. Because we do have another board which is really well hosted and also on the topic of TV it seems that the best solution would be for us to invite you all over there and consolidate the two boards. Sarah, the Points of View host, has said that you're very welcome there.

The lifestyle board will close next week during the day on Tuesday 21st July. I really hope that in the mean time you head over to Points of View and make yourselves at home. Please accept my apologies for the disruption and any upset that this might cause you.

Sorry to be the bringer of bad news peacedove

Really, do you think we actually believe that????

You've been trying to shut this board down since 2005...Well, you've finally done it!

I Second That. It lost its way when it stopped the Antiques pages and the self help sections. RIP.

Don't know about fun on here Terry as I only found this MB about a week before the "Antiques" bit closed.
From what I gathered, this was once a pretty lively place, generating some interesting discussions.
BTW My more fun in The Bull comment was meant in comparison to POV.
Maybe because we, in Oz, don't get to see too many of the programmes talked about there.

I guess the subject will get lost amongst the other TV stuff.

Hi everyone – I’ve been in touch with Keri who hosts The Archers board and you’re welcome to head to The Bull if you want to. I’m sure you’ll have fun in either location.

eversonicegirl – There are lots of people using both Points of View TV and The Bull so it's true that topics do move off the front pages quickly, but if you headed off and started a conversation on either you could post a link to it here so that everyone ends up on the other side together. Just a thought smiley

Before the Antiques Board there was a congclomeration of Boards (Bargain Hunt had its own for example) that were merged into the Antiques Board which in turn was eventually transposed into this Lifestyle Board. The main Board of the 'conglomeration' was one called The Virtual Sofa....now *that* was lively, fun and very well used. It is still sadly missed but allowing posters to have fun on these Boards does not seem to interest the BBC.

I have visited The Bull a couple of times so may take up permanent residence there as even the POV Board is now dying.

antique.abriisworld....

This is where a lot of the old BBC Antiques board posters went to, it was set up by one of the members when the BBC closed the other boards and left us with this one!
