Many apologies if this has been covered elsewhere in the topics on this website but I have scoured the Help pages thoroughly, but I recently tried to reinstall the iPlayer desktop for Windows 7 and it consistently comes up with "An error occurred with installation. If problem persists please contact the application author." I believe I have cleared the cache and uninstalled previous traces of both Adobe Air and desktop installations, but still can't seem to update.

I reckon my Windows account has administrator privileges, but in the event I do download the desktop installation I can't seem to open or run the program because the icon seems to be accompanied by a blue and yellow-checked shield which wasn't there before. You're my last resort! Thanks for your help.

    Maybe I'm being thick?...
