Having returnedlate today with the intention of viewing the Grand Prix and all day avoided hearing the result Iwas most concerned to find that this race is indicated as "NOT AVAILABLE". What is the problem BBC I am most disappointed in the lack of service and would have expected better than a bland unavailable notice.
Is this race due to be restored later and if not why not???

I just managed to watch 55 of the 58 laps and suddenly the F1 Turkey 2011 was removed from the iPlayer so I cant see the end!

How come the BBC manage to "cock" up the iplayer coverage of the F1 so often? Im really clucked off with this.
    What a turkey!

Please sort it quickly! I want to see those last few laps now!

There is many a comment on these boards under Service Updates for this issue. There is no comment from BBC either as to when it will be up again. Like you, I had only a few laps left to watch when it went down.

    Ruined my Sunday.

I wonder what reaction everyone would give if the BBC left a broken version on iPlayer and didn't re-encode it.

I don't really mind it taking them a while (though it shouldn't - after all this time you'd think they'd fixed the problems), it's the teasing that's so frustrating...

    - When I woke up iPlayer Desktop said the race would be downloadable at a very specific time (15:23 or something like that) so I waited for that time and instead it changed to "Available Soon"

    - Waited a couple more hours then decided to just watch it online/streaming, in lower quality. About 30 minutes in I made the mistake of refreshing the page to see if it was downloadable yet - and instead found the whole page for accessing the stream had been pulled. Except I KNOW the actual stream was still there since I was just watching it fine 3 seconds earlier

    - Shortly after that I looked at iPlayer Desktop and found both the race and forum show had started downloading. Awesome. 4 hours later the race is nearly downloaded and I was clearing out a couple of other programmes I'd watched in the meantime... I restarted iPlayer Desktop (because there was a show called 'Unknown' I was subscribed to, and wanted to make sure it wasn't really something else before unsubscribing) and immediately on starting-up I get the popup "Turkish Grand Prix - is no longer available. All those gigabytes you just downloaded which contained the race you could now be watching have been deleted for who knows what reason. Sucks to be you" (or something to that affect)

This happened to one of the races last year btw, and they never put it back (or afaik explained why it was pulled when the content obviously worked fine because some had watched it all). So might be a case of making do with the hilights show tomorrow smiley - sadface
