I am currently downloading episode 5 to iPlayer desktop.

There was no out of area warning for me, however an attempt a few minutes earlier failed with a generic "something went wrong" warning. The warning was probably because just as the download started my internet connection failed for a few seconds.

I mention this because as a result of the apparently unrelated problem I had a partial corrupt download in the iPlayer Repository which it was necessary to delete manually to prevent it blocking the current faultless download. You may need to check in your Repository for a partial download, find it here C:\Users\Dave\Documents\My Videos\BBC iPlayer\repository Where Dave is whatever name you gave your files.

Each programme has its own sub directory and a corrupt download will have a sub directory with missing files. Delete the subdirectory with the failed download - close iPlayer desktop fully - refresh the programme page - try again.

Or since all three download types are available try the others, the Windows Media and Portable only remain for a week after first broadcast the Portable also only has a 7 day shelf-life after download.

Not forgetting that there is a repeat tonight so assuming you have a licence watch or record to PVR is an option to prevent missing it altogether.

Success ! Many thanks. I know my way round the respository as I find the iPlayer Desktop doesn't actually delete files but I never thought to check if there was a partial there.

Glad to have been of assistance, I hope the explanation in regard to the Repository helps somebody else.
