    Hi Michael,

It would be useful if you detailed the sequence of events that you perform up to the point where you "can't sideload". smiley - ok

    Hi Chris

I click on the programme and the download options appear, but the download for mobile devices does not only download for iplayer desktop from which you cannot sideload.

Mike - does this happen with each program you try or just with a specific program. If the latter, please post a link to the program.

This might be related to the IE9 problem identified here www.bbc.co.uk/dna/mb...

    Guys,

anybody know why the download to portable device options does not even show up on Max OS X.

My daughter has a sony MP4 which worked fine when downloading from a PC. However on my Mac I am unable to download anything for her.

any help you can give would be helpful.

The Portable downloads are WMV files which are not playable due to Apple not having a built in decoder for them.

You need to download the portable devices version on a Windows machine and then transfer it to the player using Windows Media Player.
