How do I stop BBC iPlayer opening when I start up my PC? I have gone into Setting several times and unticked the relevant box, but it still appears next time I boot up.

Are you using Windows, Mac or Linux?

As Duck said knowing if you are using Windows, Mac or Linux might be useful.

There is one thing that is so blindingly obvious that I hesitate to suggest it, a real is there any petrol in the tank question but here goes. Did you press -Save- after un-ticking the box?

    Open iPlayer Desktop.
    Click on* Settings*
Uncheck *Run BBC Iplayer Desktop on Computer Startup*

    Easy..... and it works.

Actually no it doesn't. The start with PC box is unticked and it still continues to add itself to my startup folder everytime I use it. Could the problem here be Adobe Air. All Adobe applications are equally unwilling not to run on startup.

Never starts automatically for me, have just checked that it can be removed by ticking it doing a full computer restart then unticking it and doing a full computer restart.

    Under windows Vista.

Just checking, but after you untick the 'Run BBC iPlayer Desktop on computer start up' box did you press the 'Save' button?
