When I re-booted my PC (Windows 7/IE9) yesterday (after it hung up), I found that I had lost all the programs on my Desktop Iplayer, All I had was a blank screen. When I went into Preferences, it showed that 20+Gb was in use for the storage of programs, but the link to them has been lost. Tried increasing the storage size to no avail.
I can watch live content on the Desktop Iplayer but I can't download any further programs. There are no error messages. Nothing happens. Another problem is that if I open the Desktop Iplayer and then close it, I cannot re-open it again. I have to restart the PC to do so.
Suspect I will have unistall and re-install the desktop Iplayer, with all my dowloaded programs lost. Real pain. Any thoughts, anyone?
You could do "find files" for *repository* and, if you find one with a reference to BBC in the fielname string, copy the contents to a new file that you create.
Then uninstall/reinstall iPD.
After the reinstall, you at least have a backup of the previously downloaded programs to copy back into the repository, if they get lost during the install process.
