I would like to see it made possible to watch programmes at any time after they are broadcast. I was on Cash in the Attic recently and a lot of my friends are upset that they missed it and tried to watch on i-player more than a week after the programme, only to be told it was no longer available. Could it be made possible to order a programme from BBC Archives, with a link to the archived programme being sent to the person requesting it? Other than this, I think i-player is a wonderful and very valuable service - no more of that "Oh no I missed such-and-such a programme and forgot to record it!" feeling! Thank you.
The 7 day limit is set by the BBC Trust.
This is also down to cost. The rights to make programmes available on iPlayer would be more expensive if the BBC wanted longer availability.
With the cuts that are happening, I doubt increasing availability times will be an option.
However you might be able to get a contributers copy of the programme from the BBC faq.external.bbc.co....
