Since doing the iplayer desktop update a few days ago, my stored programs disappear when I try to watch them. When I click on play it brings up a window saying "a problem occurred while downloading this program" I have lost 6 programs this way. And they all still had a month left until they expired.

It may be worth looking at:
    "Adobe AIr update" - www.bbc.co.uk/dna/mb...
"Removal of content before advertised date " - www.bbc.co.uk/dna/mb...
    "'available tomorrow " - www.bbc.co.uk/dna/mb...

Problems may all be co-incidental or there may be one or more frequent causes of this problem.

Same problem here, and everything is up-to-date. Fortunately, if you're quick, most good shows on the BBC are now also shared as torrents. Sadly, it's the only reliable way to guarantee something you've downloaded does not autonomously disappear.

    Same problem here.

This isn't the first time it's happened. I waste a few hours of my time downloading things to watch while I'm abroad and then the all delete themselves one by one.

Tried uninstalling and re-installing but still doing it.

What a total waste of time.

Shame as I rather liked using iplayer before this. Back to torrents now. At least they are reliable.

Another case of DRM over riding the function of the media.

Have a read of this www.bbc.co.uk/dna/mb...

When you are out of the UK you need to ensure that you are fully off-line.

Also if you have iPlayer desktop set to auto-run at start-up, disable that it is in preferences, top right of iPlayer desktop screen.
