I caught the Book of the Week on Friday - fascinating so went to i-Player on Saturday to hear the earlier episodes, only to find that Monday's episode 1 slot is occupied by the Friday programme I already heard. Very frustrating, and careless work by somebody. No change today (Sunday) despite my 'complaint' yesterday. The 7 days will probably expire before the BBC attempts to correct their mistake.

1440 MON 11 4 2011 AND STILL THIS HAS NOT BEEN CORRECTED.

SOMEONE THERE WAKE UP, EARN YOUR VAST SALARY AND GET THE RIGHT EPISODE UPLOADED TODAY.

YOU HAVE UNTIL 0048 TONIGHT, WHEN THE LATE REPEAT IS SCHEDULED TO BE REMOVED.

THAT GIVES YOU OVER SIX HOURS [plus the whole 2 days that the previous poster alerted you to!] TO GET THE CORRECT EPISODE AVAILABLE.

THE BOOK WRITER, READER, PRODUCER ETC ALL DESERVE COMPETENT TECH STAFF TO FULFIL THEIR JOB DESCRIPTION, BUT AS HAS BEEN NOTIFIED ON THESE BOARDS FOR YEARS, THE ERRORS ARE MULTIPLE AND CORRECTIONS ARE NEVER MADE.

AND BEFORE ANYONE SUGGESTS USING THE COMPLAINTS OPTION TO HIGHLIGHT THIS, THEY GET IGNORED FOR DAYS AND ARE NEVER IN TIME TO CORRECT ERRORS....EVEN IF THEY BOTHER TO ACTUALLY READ THE DETAILS SUBMITTED, INSTEAD OPTING FOR SOME TRUNCATED AUTO-REPLY.

PROVEN USELESS STAFF SHOULD BE SACKED!!

Curiously, Episode 2 has gone but Episode 1 is still showing. Could this be because some computer somewhere recognises the file as for Episode 5? If so, it is all done by robots and we can chat as much as we like without Auntie Beeb paying any attention. I used the contact form, little use did it do me though. I have also written to complain, hoping that it wil circumvent those with an interest in supressing discovery of their incompetence.

I, much to my shame, have taken more of my unpaid time to fill the infuriatingly designed, laboriously executed Complaint form; knowing full well that there will be either NO reply or just some completely evasive response...far too little and FAR TOO LATE!

BUT copied it to BBC TRUST in case they gain some impetus with the change of head due.

Might be worth copying your evidence to them too; if you can spare the time

    www.bbc.co.uk/bbctru...

I managed to track down the missing episode via BEEBOTRON; via their WHAT WAS ON page.

But that page failed to allow access to the Fri 8 4 11 episode which I tried to listen to today, 1030, since I PLAYER had REMOVED IT 15 HOURS EARLY! And swapped it for the BOTW that started just 30 mins before....though tagged as one week before it was even broadcast live!!!!

That's after providing it TWICE for most of the week; but I start books at the beginning.....not the end.

Luckily, bizarrely, another BEEBOTRON page, R4 A-Z, gave the correct Fri episode so, finally, finished the T Jones readings; which were worth it for his impressions alone.

BTW took more unpaid time to alert the author, production team etc asking if they could get the errors corrected. Only one replied with the implication that once they have their fee they don't really care what the BBC do with the programme!

So not only do the Techies not care but even those creative types behind the programme are hardly bothered!

I got an emailed response to my written complaint, that stated that th operational team were working to rectifiy the problem. In fact, they appear simply to have suspended the link to episode 5 until the deadline for deleting it from the iPlayer. I have therefore written a further complaint seeking escalating of the issue as a matter of principle.

I have been appalled by the number of comments on the message board about features of iPlayer or RadioPlayer either not working or being wrong. It suggests that the BBC doesn't listen, and/or doesn't care about its listeners' listening experience. This is something which affects us all because they ared spending our money, and not always doing it well.

The Contact Us process is designed to deter listeners from complaining. It took me several attempts to raise a complaint online, which I couldn't initiate from within the website. This is not proper accountability.

I will persist with this general complaint through the Trust and to my MP if necessary.

Congrats on getting a reply from your complaint, even if it was unhelpful and is prompting you to take more time to chase them up.

I think since I have complained before I am on some IGNORE list; as not a peep since I asked why so many errors occurring.

And have tonight found that a 6 Music programme has no Listen Again option, with not even a Beebotron outlet to remedy the situation.

Seems these boards set to disappear like so many other PUBLIC modes of making Licence Fee payers thoughts, when station messageboards were cleared earlier this month.

They plan to scatter any dissent and pretend there are no problems being discovered, with every passing day.

Good luck with your Trust/MP referrals. If you can post any successes or received pledges for overdue change, to the current malaise, then might prompt others to choose that route for some belated redress.
