Installed latest version of AIR and desktop on new Acer Aspire One netbook (latest as of today 28.5.2011). When you run iplayer desktop, nothing happens but task manager shows program as running and using memory. Tried un/re-install five times, same thing. Tonight I installed Adobe Air version 2.0.4 and iplayer desktop version 307 and it worked!!!

The only problem is if I go to iplayer website and click a download link I am FORCED to "upgrade" after which the program resumes NOT WORKING as before. Does this strike anyone else as totally insane?

Acer Aspire One, 1.66GHz Intel Atom, 1GB RAM, Windows 7 starter.

    Hi,
When you uninstalled Desktop and AIR, did you delete the folders listed here as well? iplayerhelp.external...
